Learn how to pick the best diaper for your active toddler. We cover fit, absorbency, and when to move up a size for all-day comfort and leak protection.
Quick answer
For active toddlers, choose a diaper size that matches their weight and mobility. Honest Clean Conscious Diapers® offer a secure fit and up to 100% leak protection, making them a solid choice for busy little ones.
Why fit matters more for active toddlers
Active toddlers crawl, climb, squat, and run. A diaper that shifts or gaps can cause leaks and discomfort. A snug waistband and flexible leg cuffs help keep everything in place during movement.
Size 4 vs Size 6: What changes
Size 4 diapers typically fit toddlers 22–37 lbs, while size 6 fits 35+ lbs. As your child grows, the diaper's absorbent core and leg gussets adjust to provide better coverage and containment. Choosing the right size prevents red marks or sagging.
How to choose the right diaper for your active toddler
- Check the weight range: Use the diaper size chart on the package. If your toddler is near the upper limit of a size, try the next size up for better coverage.
- Look for red marks or sagging: Red marks on the waist or thighs mean the diaper is too tight. Sagging or leaks mean it's too loose or too full. Adjust size or change more often. A properly fitted diaper should sit snugly without leaving marks.
- Prioritize leak protection during movement: Choose diapers with features like Comfort Dry Technology and flexible leg cuffs to contain messes during crawling, walking, and running. Active toddlers need diapers that move with them, not against them.
